      Pixel size originally 30 m, reduced by 8 to 240 m.
      The original landsat data had "gaps" due to a defect of the
      landsat satellite. These gaps were gap filled, but
      inaccuracies resulted. Also, as a result, during mosaicing
      the water sections to the edges became "flamed" The reason
      for this is unknown.

      Process_Description:
        Mosaicing was carried out using Erdas by Emil Cherrington
        Source data included images
        1947-20040228 1948-20040127
        1948-20040212 were GeoTIFF images in RBG bands 453. Due to
        errors in the Landsat Satellite, these images has 'gaps'
        towards the sides. These gaps were "gap-filled" but
        inacuracies resulted. Also, during mosaicing some marine
        areas got "flamed", ie, strange flame like artifacts occur
        over certain parts of the marine section. The cause is
        unknown, but probably it has something to do with the gaps.
        The mosaic was transfered to DrSid immage file. Using Dr
        Sid, the resolution of file was reduced to 4:1 for the
        purpose of reducing the file size and saved back into
        GeoTiff format with twf worldfile.
